Sir Edmund Hillary was a New Zealand explorer, mountaineer, and philanthropist. On 29 May 1953, Edmund Hillary and Sherpa mountaineer, Tenzing Norgay. Edmund was born on 20 July 1919, Auckland and died on 11 August 2008 in Auckland City Hospital, Auckland due to a Heart Attack, when he was 88 years old.
