Welcome to another post on my blog. Today, I completed another activity for the Summer Learning Journey 2020-21. This activity was about Te Reo Māori. I first had to make a copy of the slide deck given, complete the activities on the first six slides and practise your pronunciation with a video. Next, draw a picture of our whānau doing one of the activities on slide 5. Label it with the sentence that tells people what you are doing. Then lastly, share our slide deck and a screenshot of our picture on our blog. Share our slide deck on our blog. Remember to describe what you learnt, what was fun and what was challenging.
What I've Learnt
- How to say “What are you doing today?” in Māori. - Kei te aha koe i tēnei rā?
- How to reply to the answer in Māori. - Kei te haere au ki te chosen option.
- Basketball in Māori is 'tākaro poitūkohu'.
- Touch Rugby in Māori is 'tākaro pā whutupōro'.
- Netball in Māori is 'tākaro netipōro'.
- Swimming in Māori is 'kaukau'.
- Beach in Māori is 'tātahi'.
- Playground in Māori is 'papa tākaro'.
What is fun?
Making the image below the slide deck. It took time, but, it was fun to make the image.
What was challenging?
Nothing, it was easy to complete.
