Spring Leaning Journey: Food | Activity 13

Welcome to another post on my blog. For this second task for the Spring Learning Journey, I am going to do a 'Would you rather?'.

Would you rather never be able to eat cake again
Or

Never be able to eat ice-cream?

Comment down below what you would choose. Well, this is a hard thing for me, I like cake and ice-cream.

I would rather never be able to eat cake again. It is because sometimes cakes don't taste good and how we want it.

Ice-Cream is good and tastes well. They are delicious.

Welcome to another post on my blog. In today's post, I am going to share you about what we had done on Wednesday. In today's post, I am going to share the 3 things I enjoyed about the trip, 4 facts you leant and the 4 climate change facts you leant about Orana Park environment/animals. The Year 7&8's went to Orana Park at different days. Our class went with 2 classes (Mt and Al) on Wednesday. The three classes had split into 4 groups. I was in the second group, with our whole class (nearly). Each group had a leader from Orana Wildlife Park, I was in a group with Bethany.

We had to write a reflection about the enjoyable day.

3 things you enjoyed about the trip

  1. Feeding the Giraffe
  2. Seeing the kiwi
  3. Meeting the Cheetahs, Lions and Tiger.

4 facts you learnt

  1. Bellbirds get the yellow colour on their head by nectar and spread the pollen.
  2. Orangutans have the flappy thing by their mouth to spread and flow their voice.
  3. The light in the Kiwi House was so dim and dark because it is a new Kiwi.
  4. To not look at a Cheetah's eyes directly, because they will think that you are going to fight them.

3 climate change facts you leant about Orana Park environment/animals

  1. Orana Wildlife Park has Tasmanian Devils because they have a disease which affects the Tasmanian Devils. So Orana Park keeps them safe.
  2. Sumatran Tigers in Indonesia have been most affected because of Palm Tree cutting.
  3. To recycle your phone at the Great Ape Centre to save Gorillas.

Decomposing and Recycling | Conservation/Sustainability

Welcome to another post on my blog. In today's post, I am doing an experiment using Decomosing and Recycling. I hope you like it!

Aim: To learn about the rate that different materials decompose.

Image result for test tube rack

Hypothesis: I think that the banana is going to be first to rotten.

Materials:

  1. 4 Test tubes
  2. Test tube rack
  3. Test tube blocker (cork stopper)
  4. Paper
  5. Banana
  6. Bread
  7. Styrofoam
  8. Water
Steps:
  1. Get a test tube rack with 4 test tube in it.
  2. Get the four materials, paper, 2-3 small pieces of banana, bread, styrofoam.
  3. Put it in four different test tubes.
  4. If more people are doing this experiment, put the name of your group.
  5. Put the cork stopper on top of the test tube.
  6. Record the information.

Conclusion:

According to the data and image, the banana has changed the most. It has gone rotten. It was starting to rotten down at week 3 (after the holidays), with a brown, black and green colour. At week 5, the banana had a colour of white, brown, black and green. It was more mouldy and rotten. As seen from the image above, there has been a massive change between the week 1 image and the week 5 image. It is softer and liquidy.

There has been no change in the paper and styrofoam cup. It looks the same, compared to week 1.

The bread had some changes. At week 3, the bread was softer and pushed down. It is starting to rotten. At week 5, the bread is softer, pushed down and it looks more liquidy.

Climate Change Investigation | Conversation/Sustainability

Welcome to another post on my blog.

My Investigation on climate change

DEFINITION: The process of making the ocean acidic.

What is happening to the oceans?

The ocean is absorbing carbon dioxide, which is good for us, but not good for the ocean. Because the ocean will turn acidic.

What does this do to shellfish?

They do not grow properly and do not grow in the right form/shape.

HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE CONTRIBUTE TO THE ACIDIFICATION OF OUR OCEANS?

The carbon dioxide in the atmosphere makes the water in our ocean more acidic.

    2 Images;

DEFINITION: Action for clearing a wide area of trees
    What are trees used for?

Trees are used for wood, paper, cardboard, making items from wood, houses, toothpicks, etc.

HOW DOES DEFORESTATION AFFECT THE CLIMATE?

Leaves take in carbon dioxide which makes the carbon dioxide in the tree. When they cut the trees, the carbon dioxide escape.

ICE CAP MELTDEFINITION: Ice melting and landing in the ocean
If all the ice melted what would happen?

The sea-level rise and islands will sink, floods will increase.

HOW DOES ICE CAP MELT AFFECT CLIMATE CHANGE?

WATER VAPOURDEFINITION: Water Vapour is produced from the evapouration or boiling liquid.

    Science Laboratory | Conservation/Sustainability

Welcome to another post on my blog. For science today, we have been doing the expectations in the science lab. Because we have shifted to our new classes.

Aim: To learn about the expected behaviour in a science laboratory.

    Our R9 Class Treaty
    1. Bags go under the desk
    2. No food or drinks
    3. No running
    4. Don't touch experiments.

    4.   You must never eat or drink in a laboratory.
    5.   Shoes must be worn at all times.
    6.   If you spill something you should tell your teacher immediately.
    7.  You should wash your hands after every practical activity.
    8. You should know what you are doing. If in doubt ask your teacher.
    9. Never taste or sniff chemicals.
In your group, discuss how the following scenarios could be dangerous.
    1. Not putting your bag under your desk.
    2. Running around in the laboratory.
    3. Not wearing shoes in a laboratory.
    4. Shaking a test tube with your thumb over its mouth?

    Twenty-Five Words

Welcome to another post on my blog. In today's post, I am going to show and share the poem that I have created out of 25 words. We had to make a twenty-five-word poem or a slam poem. I chose to write a 25-word poem. So in this poem, we had to create a poem from 25 words which are given to us. So the writer has created their own poem and we have to create our own poem.

Here are the 25 words that we were given,

'Iight, ice, run, fly, float, white, mountain, witch, feather, blue, fast, past, snow, fall, puddles, bright, river, sunshine, burn, crusty, stars, water, sky, black, beautiful'

This was the poem I made:

    Blue Mountains

    Sunshine
    Light feather witch
    Blue ice
    White crusty snowfall
    Fly fast
    River run past
    Mountain
    Water puddles
    Stars float burn bright

    Beautiful black sky

    By Khush

I hope you like the poem that I have created. Comment down below if you've made a poem before? Have a cool day!! Bye!!

Welcome to another post on my blog. In today's post, I am going to look at the match that was recently ended, France vs Argentina. This match was played at Tokyo Stadium, Tokyo. This match ended 30 minutes. I watch the match live, it was really entertaining and tense. I had started watching at 67 minutes, the score was 20 to France and 18 to Argentina.

A minute later, there was a penalty kick and Argentina scored. The score was 20-21, it was a tense match. Just a minute later, Camille Lopez had done a Dropgoal. Means, he kicked it through the post on the full. The score was 23-21. At the 79th minute, there was a penalty by France, which gave Argentina a chance to win the game. Sadly for the Argentinas, he missed the free-kick and went above the post. France had won the match 23-21.
