What are we up to? | Art

Welcome to another post on my blog. In today's post, I will be reflecting on what we are up to so far. So we have been working on Stop Motions and making Stop Motion movie with a group. The main concept of our movie is to relate to Maanakitanga. We got put in groups, in my group, there are Levi, Cody, Christian and I. We had to choose roles for our group, Director, Drawer (Illustration) and Cameraman. Here are our roles, Levi & Christian as Cameramen, Cody as Illustration, and I am a Director and Illustrator Assistant.

Our story shows Mannakitanga by using kindness and friendship. Here is our storyboard that we have created.

Our Characters, Setting, and our Movie is Top Secret

I hope you like my post about what we are up to in Art. Be tuned to find out what we are making. Have a cool day!! Bye!!

What is Stop Motion? | Art

Welcome to another post on my blog. For our new hurumanu, we are doing Art. We are looking at Stop Motion and what it is. First, we had a discussion and come up with ideas about Stop Motion & what they are. We had to get synonyms about Stop and Motion.

Stop
  • Freeze
  • Still
  • Not moving
  • Stay
  • Stuck

Motion

  • Movement
  • Act
  • Jiggle
  • Going
  • Do

We also needed to find out how we make Stop Motions. We got ideas like:
  • Smudging an image
  • Moving the camera
  • Changing a picture - one bit at a time
  • Stop - take a photo - move - take a photo - stop...

Our next discussion was about what we need to make a Stop Motion. There were ideas like:
  • A camera
  • Keyboard
  • iMovie
  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Pencil
  • Colouring stuff (pencils, pens, felts, etc.)
  • Screen
What do we do for our characters? We need to:

  • Use clay
  • Draw
  • Sketch
  • Actual people
  • Make puppets

I hope you like my post about Stop Motion. Have a cool day!! Bye!!

Try this Product!! | Digital Technology

Welcome to another post on my blog. For the last few weeks for Digital Technology, we have been creating our product for our issue. A few weeks ago, I posted my Research Template about my research for my product. The product that I have chosen is an App, we have to use App Lab in Code.org to create the app. Also, my issue is Environmental, and I have chosen Greenhouse gases  Because it is the last day for this hurumanu, we have to reflect about what we have done so far and share our product/app. This app took a few weeks to make, and it was a big effort. I had included my questions and information from my Research Template. Here is my app that I have created. I hope you like it.

It might take time to load the app.

This app is not completed.

Adding & Subtracting Mixed & Improper Fractions

For Maths, we are doing Fractions. We have learnt about Fractions of a Number, Proper Fractions and Improper Fractions. In today's DLO, we are going to learn about Adding and Subtracting Mixed & Improper Fractions. I am sorry if there are any mistakes in this video. I hope you like this video. Comment down below if you've learnt something new today!! Have a cool day!! Bye!!

Our Conferences Slide

Today, we are going to have Learning Conferences. We have to create a slideshow to present our learning to our parents. We had to include what we have done this term and some of last term.

Here is my slideshow about my learning. I hope you like the slideshow. Comment down if there are any mistakes in the slideshow. Have a cool day!! Bye!!

Proper & Improper Fractions

Welcome to another post on my blog. For maths, we have been learning about Proper and Improper Fractions. I have made two DLO's about Proper and Improper Fractions. Watch this video to learn about Proper and Improper Fractions. I am sorry if there are mistakes in the video.

New Feature: I have added captions, and in my future DLO's, I will include captions.

Please comment down below about it. I hope you like the video and learn something new. Have a cool day!! Bye!!

Our Results - What's The Difference? | Physical Education

Welcome to another post on my blog. For today's post, we will be looking at our results in P.E. (Physical Education). Last week, we had done some fitness testing. Which includes,
  • Cardiovascular Endurance (Beep Test)
  • Power (Vertical Jump, Jump Height and Vertical Distance)
  • Flexibility (Sit and Reach)
  • Muscular Endurance (Sit-ups)
  • Strength (Grip Strength)
So, we had looked over these tests. Now, let's go to the first test, Cardiovascular Endurance, or known as the Beep Test. Let's know what we had to do for the Beep Test.

There will be a 20-metre distance measured in the gym. Students will start behind the cones at one end of the gym. When they hear a beep over the speakers they must run to the other set of cones. They must make it to the other set of cones before the next beep goes off, once that beep goes off they need to run back to the other set of cones, again making it there before the beep. If students do not make it to a set of cones before the beep then they are out.

We had done the Beep Test twice. The first test was on the first week and the second test was on 22nd July. Here are my scores. By looking at the scores, I have improved my score from last time.

NameScore 1st test week 1Score - 22 July
Khush3.36.3

Want more information, click here, this link will take you to, www.topendsport.com, for more information about the Beep Test.

The second test is the Power Test or known as the Vertical Jump Test. We had to see how tall we are comparing how high we can jump. Let's know how to do this test.

Students will stand with their side against the wall and both feet firmly planted on the ground The will reach up as high as possible with their hand and we will record this as standing measure Students will then jump as high as possible and touch the wall, this is the jump height Then, jump height - standing measure = vertical distance.

Below is the score that I have done. There is only 0.2m vertical distance.

Standing Measure
Jump Height
Difference - Vertical Distance
Khush

2.4
0.2

For more information, click here, this link will take you to, www.brianmac.co.uk, for more information about the Vertical Jump Test.

This third test that we had done was Flexibility, or known as the Sit and Reach test. In this test we had to reach as far as we could. Let's know about this test.

Students will remove their shoes, they will then sit on the floor with their legs fully extended and feet against the box Students will place one hand on top of the other, then they will slowly bend forward-moving the slider along the box as far as possible, but without pushing it forward, and their distance will be recorded.

For me, it was hard for this test, but I tried to do this test. Below is are my score.

Distance (cm)

Khush
0.5

The next test that we had done was Muscular Endurance or known as the Situps. As you know, we had to do situps. But, we had to do the most situps in 30 seconds. Here are some instructions.

Students will lie on the floor with their knees bent and feet flat on the floor, their hands will be placed on their ears and they must be there for the whole test An assistant can help hold the participants feet down Students must perform sit-ups, touching their elbows to their knees, they need to complete as many as possible in 30 seconds.

Here are my situps that I have done.

Khush

This was the fifth and final test that we had done. Also, this is the hardest one, the Strength test, or known as the Grip Strength test. In this test, we had to use hand grips. We have to do my most squeezes in 30 seconds. Here is more information about the test.

Students will be given a set of hand grips Using their dominant hand they have to squeeze the grips together as many times as possible in 30 seconds

I hadn't done any, because it was too hard.

I hope you like my post about my results in P.E. Have a cool day!! Bye!!
