Saving lives has always been important, but first aid is believed to have started only 160 years ago. At the Battle of Solferino in northern Italy, Henry Dunant, a young businessman from Geneva, witnessed a tragic tragedy. About 40,000 dead men surrounded him and many were wounded need medical assistance. In response, Henry called for help and had an idea of the Red Cross. Today, it is known as the International Federation of Red Cross. Along with the Red Cresent Societies, they are the largest humanitarian network in the world.
